Tehran architecture wins int’l nom

‘Orsi Khaneh’ residential block of flats in Tehran designed by architect in charge and supervisor Nima Keivani wins a nom for 2017 Asia Architecture Award. 

The architecture embracing Iran local and traditional designs "was nominated for the Asia Architecture Award mounted by 2A Magazine," Keivani was quoted by local media as saying on Monday.

‘Orsi Khaneh’ is otherwise known in English as a house with the Orsi window, a type of sash window.

The notable Iranian architect also said that the awarding ceremony will be held October 20, 2017 in Germany.

The 2A Asia Architecture Award (2AAA) takes place annually to highlight and celebrate regional and Asian achievements in architecture which will feature awards and exhibitions as well as debates by the participants on the influences and methods.

‘Orsi Khaneh’ has been lauded at international events for architecture. In 2015, The project became Bronze A' Design Award Winner for Architecture, Building and Structure Design Category.
